Round 10 of the 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship at the Black Hills Half-Mile Cancelled Due to Heavy Rains

 

After getting in the practice, qualifying and track walk portions of the program, round 10 of the 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship at the Black Hills Speedway half-mile was cancelled late last night due to torrential rain in the area that totally washed out the facility and the surrounding area.

Due to the time constraints of getting to the next round at the Indy Mile this coming Friday, August 8, the event was thusly cancelled completely instead of being rescheduled to run today. Photo courtesy of AMA Pro Flat Track.

Black Hills Half-Mile by Dunlop canceled due to inclement weather

RAPID CITY, S.D. (August 5, 2014) - The Black Hills Half-Mile by Dunlop scheduled to run on Tuesday, August 5, at Rapid City Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. has been canceled due to inclement weather.   Officials from AMA Pro Racing and the promoter of the Black Hills Half-Mile by Dunlop deemed the track unsafe to compete on tonight, as well as tomorrow, after heavy rainfall hit the Midwest venue just before Opening Ceremonies were set to kick off.   "The rainfall tonight was so heavy that it would be impossible to get the track ready for racing tomorrow even if there was to be perfect weather," said Dan Johnsen, Director of AMA Pro Flat Track.
