AMA Hall of Fame Legends Weekend Scheduled October 18-19 in Las Vegas

AMA Legends Weekend set for Oct. 18-19 in Las Vegas

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- April 4, 2013 -- The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that this year's 2013 AMA Legends Weekend will be held on a new date -- Oct. 18-19 -- and at a new location, the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino in Las Vegas. The AMA Legends Weekend features the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2013 Induction Ceremony, highlighting the greatest weekend in motorcycling.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Friday night, Oct. 18, in a star-studded gala event that honors the motorcycling world's fast and famous. The next morning launches the all-new AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Dave Mungenast Memorial Legends Reception, where the Class of 2013 and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers from previous years will be honored and interviewed on-stage in a relaxed setting that allows fans and friends to get up close and personal with motorcycling's greatest legends.

Both events are timed to coincide with the Monster Cup AMA Supercross race at nearby Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas Saturday night, rounding out the year's most impressive motorcycling weekend.

"The AMA Legends Weekend has truly become one of the year's must-do events for the motorcycling community and for fans," said Jeffrey V. Heininger, chairman of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, which oversees the Hall of Fame. "When you add the gala of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame weekend with the glitz of AMA Supercross in Las Vegas, you get a special, one-of-a-kind experience that showcases the stars of today and the sport's true legends, all at one time and place. You don't want to miss it."

Stepping up once again to sponsor a key part of the festive weekend is Dave Mungenast's Classic Motorcycle Museum, which is the title sponsor of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Dave Mungenast Legends Reception.

"We're glad to be a part of this great weekend every year," said Ray Mungenast of the Dave Mungenast Classic Motorcycle Museum and Mungenast Automotive Family in St. Louis. "We're excited to be part of the new reception, which will allow a great, informal way for everyone to catch up with old friends, and rub elbows with the real legends of our sport. It's going to be one amazing weekend in Vegas."

In addition, two existing AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers will be honored as Legends at the October event, and those will be announced shortly.
