After being seriously injured during last season's qualifying session at the Springfield Mile I, AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship GNC2 (formerly Pro Singles) rider and Ohio native JR Addison came back in a strong way last Sunday to win the main event at the Lima Half-Mile in round 5 of the 2015 season.
The Bucyrus, OH. resident actually returned to the track late last season, but on Sunday Addison found his groove in his home event aboard the
#24F Parkinson Brothers Racing/J&F Construction/Smith Racing/Bell-sponsored Honda CRF450R to lead 15 of the 16 laps of the GNC2 final and move into the 7th-place spot in the championship. Addison also beat team mate and current points leader Davis Fisher by just over 5 seconds in front of the crowded house on hand at the Allen County Fairgrounds track.
Check out the press release below from sponsor Motorcycle-Superstore about the great ride that former AMA Horizon Award winner Addison put in to take his initial win of the 2015 season.

MEDFORD, Ore (June 29, 2015) Mother Nature didn't get the memo about Saturday's AMA Pro Flat Track event in Lima, Ohio, so the racers and AMA officials waited until Sunday where it turned out to be perfect racing conditions. In spite of all the rain and track preparation, Lima quickly became its dusty and rutted old self, providing for great racing.
Brad Baker and his factory Harley dominated the GNC1 class and Motorcycle Superstore's Bell Helmet support rider, JR Addison, easily controlled the GNC2 main event by taking the lead on the second lap and piloting his Parkinson Brothers Racing Honda across the finish line 15 laps later with a 5.164 second lead over class points leader Davis Fisher.
"Lima was definitely a great day to look back on. I have been waiting to race there since I was probably ten-years-old," explained Addison. "This year I finally got the chance, and it was great! I was able to qualify first. I struggled a little in my heat race but still finished second. In the main I was able to take the lead early and ride my own race for the win. It was my first win of the year and I hope to get on the podium some more this year! I definitely couldn't have done it without Parkinson Brothers Racing, J&F Construction, Motorcycle Superstore, Bell Helmets, Evans Cooling, K&N, Motion Pro, Vortex, Works Connection, and Saddlemen Seats."
Third on the box in GNC2 was Motorcycle Superstore's Ryan Wells. Wells has been overdue for a podium finish since he started his own team and this was the first podium for the Ryan Wells Racing Honda. "With this being my first year running my race program by myself, and especially how we didn't start the year off as planned, it felt really good to get back up on the podium where I believe I belong."
Round 6 of the AMA Pro Flat Track series takes place this Saturday, July 4 at the Du Quin State Fairgrounds. For more information about the series go to AMA Pro Racing. You can watch the action live on FansChoice.tv.
