Family Events Now Has Tickets On Sale for the Return of the AMA Pro Flat Track DuQuoin 'Magic Mile' on July 4

Tickets went on sale mid-week last week for the return of the DuQuoin 'Magic Mile' at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds for round 7 of the 2015 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship season on July 4. Family Events, the Indianapolis-based promoters of DuQuoin and the legendary Indy Mile, is making the return of the Magic Mile possible after a ten-year hiatus from the series' schedule.

This is a great opportunity for more Midwest fans and fanatics to see The Rolling Thunder Show perform at one of the premier facilities in the area, as DuQuoin is one of the finest and fastest tracks in the nation, and there are virtually NO bad seats anywhere in the grandstands. The last time the track hosted the greatest racing show on two wheels in the world was at the end of the 2004 season when former AMA Grand National #23 Kevin 'Cupcake' Atherton ran away from the field in a romp that saw him win by half a track, and the most recent running of the mile in Southern Illinois was at the end of the 2005 season when former 7-Time AMA Grand National Champion Chris 'The Prince of Peoria' Carr showed the field the way to the checkered flag and also that his skills were not just in top form at the track just outside of Peoria, Illinois from where he garnered his famous nickname.

Looking at the prices of tickets not only for pre-sale but at the gate, this is one of, is not THE best deals in spectator viewing for the dollar. At $20/each for general admission (remember, there is NO BAD SEAT TO BE HAD) you can't afford NOT to make the trip to the DuQuoin event!

In the shot above, final qualifying at the legendary Indy Mile sees Jared Mees on #9 Rogers Racing/Las Vegas H-D/Blue Springs H-D-sponsored H-D XR750 taking the highline with Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. on the #2 Zanotti Racing/Moroney's H-D/Burt Ives Honda-backed XR750 holding his own while hugging the lowline next to the guard rail. Bringing up the rear of these former and current champions is Henry Wiles on the #17 Don's Kawasaki/DPC Racing/EA Racing-sponsored Kawasaki EX650.

Whatever you do, get on board and get your tickets now for the DuQuoin Mile on July 4, as this promises to be another superb showing of action and bar banging in The Rolling Thunder Show, and with Family Events putting on the show, you can't go wrong. These people know how to promote a great flat track race, as they have shown the last several years with their promotion of the Indy Mile, but the ticket prices alone should bring the fans out in droves to see the action in person!

TICKETS ON SALE FOR THE RETURN OF THE DUQUOIN, IL “MAGIC MILE” AMA PRO FLAT TRACK GRAND NATIONAL   INDIANAPOLIS, IN (APRIL 23, 2015) - Tickets for the return of the DuQuoin “Magic Mile” AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Motorcycle race set for July 4, 2015 are now on sale.  Gates for the Independence Day event will open at 2:00pm (CDT) on July 4th, with practice and qualifying from 2:30 – 4:30pm, Rider autographs from 4:30pm – 6:00pm, opening ceremonies at 6:30pm, and racing beginning at 7:00pm.  The National final is set for 9:00pm.  All seats will be General Admission, with tickets for children age 2-12 years old only $10. Historically one of the fastest miles on the AMA Pro Flat Track circuit, the DuQuoin State Fair’s dirt surface has not hosted the top flat-track riders since 2005.  That last race was won by Chris Carr, who collected his only win on the Magic Mile on his way to his seventh and final championship season.  The DuQuoin State Fairgrounds has its origins in the 1920’s.  In 1946, the “Magic Mile” track was created on land that had once been a strip mine.  Since then, the track has been the site of hundreds of internationally-noted horse races, auto races, motorcycles races and top-name concerts.  Racing legends like A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Bobby Unser and more competed on the Magic Mile in Champ cars in the 1960’s.  Its oval shape with long straightaways makes the Magic Mile particularly well suited for AMA Pro Flat track action.      The lightning-fast competition roars from a wheelie-inducing standing-start as a huge pack of riders duel handlebar-to-handlebar with one foot down and the bikes pitched sideways into the first of dozens of power-sliding, full-throttle corner battles. The riders then put their chins on their fuel tanks and often drop their non-throttle hand from the handle grip to their backs in an effort to gain an aerodynamic drafting edge at straightaway speeds reaching 120mph.  Fans will be able to camp on the north end of the historic, sprawling and scenic grounds of the DuQuoin State Fair.  The Fairgrounds boasts over 1,000 hookups with water and electric.
